Provision of air-conditioned space for protection of homeless during heatwave
CORFU. Air-conditioned space will be available at the Municipal Theatre and accessible from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., from July 7 to July 9.
The Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands is providing an air-conditioned space at the Municipal Theatre for the protection of vulnerable citizens from high temperatures.
The air-conditioned area is available and accessible from 09:00 to 19:00 during the period from July 7 to July 9.
Additionally, an air-conditioned space at the Homeless Day Care Centre will be open on weekdays (Monday through Friday) from 09:00 to 17:00 for the use of the homeless (information phone number: 26610 81855).
Information for citizens regarding the availability and use of these spaces can be obtained by calling 26613 62124 on working days, from 08:00 to 14:30.

This initiative is part of the municipality’s social policy and public health protection measures, activated during periods of significantly high temperatures. It follows the guidelines of the General Secretariat for Social Solidarity and Poverty Alleviation of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, aiming to prevent homeless individuals from being exposed to danger due to the upcoming heatwave.
