Kavalouri Cultural Society and Laodamas in Ohrid, North Macedonia
CORFU. They received an official invitation from WOFA to the 30th International Ohrid Festival - "Winter Festival."
Kavalouri Cultural Society and Laodamas, responding to the official invitation of WOFA, participated in the 30th International Ohrid Festival in North Macedonia, called "Winter Festival." Together, they presented a dance programme featuring local dances and traditional costumes from northern and central Corfu, as well as the Diapontia Islands.
The dance group consisted of 40 people, both men and women, under the instruction of Marilena Kanta and Nikos Polymenakos.
It is also worth mentioning that the dance group was accompanied and supported by 50 more people from various villages of North Corfu Municipality and beyond.
We would like to especially thank the Deputy Regional Governor of Corfu, Alexandros Dimou, the Vice President of North Corfu Municipal Council, Athanasios Martinos and the President of the Kavalouri Community, Evaggelos Spigos, who supported and participated in all of our activities from the beginning of the mission until our return.
Finally, we owe a big thank you to everyone who supports us, so that together, we act and walk in unity to showcase our cultural heritage.
