Disinfestation programme in Corfu Town 7-19 October

Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Municipality Public Health Department will be carrying out disinfestation of rainwater drains.

Contractor of the project is the "Entomoktoniki- Vavoulis Ioannis". 

The third part of the disinfestation programme in public areas in Corfu and in Roma camps will take place from Friday 11/10 to Sunday 19/10.

-First zone: From Kefalomantouko shipyards along Xenofontos Stratigou, Ioannou Theotoki, Polichronis Kostantas,Ioannis Andreadis  St.  to Moni Platiteras (the zone includes Mantouki- former hospital - Nursing Home).  In this zone the following areas need careful implementation: Mantouki area 1.behind the Corfu Mate Hotel towards Solari in the rubbish bins. 2. Abandoned buildings. - Karteria area. 1. Spirou Vasileiou St.  in an abandoned house (ditch). 2. Cemetery (towards Mantouki) two streams. 

-Second zone: From Moni Platitera, Ioanni Andreadi St. (right side), St. Miltiadi Margariti- Alexis Politis- Around the psychiatric hospital area to Polichroni Konstanta (left side). In this zone the following areas need careful implementation: Platitera area 1. In the rubbish bins next to the pastry shop (Nousias). 2. In the rubbish bins near to Platitera's Parking. 

Wednesday 16/10/2024

-Third zone: New Fortress square- Konstantinou Zavitsianou St.- Arseniou St. to bathhouse of Saint Nikolaos. New Fortress square- Solomou St. -Velissariou St.- Giorgou Theotoki to the beginning of Polichroni Konstanta. This zone also includes the market area and the areas around the New Fortress as well as the bus station area. 

-Fourth zone: From San Rocco square- Donatou Dimoulitsa St. - Mitropolitou Methodiou (and alleys), Alexandras St., Dimokratias St. (formerly King Konstantinos Street- Corfu Palace) to below Mandrakina. In this zone the following areas need careful implementation: Villa Rossa area, Ditch parallel to the road (behind the parking). 

Thursday 17/10/2024

-Fifth zone: Garitsa, Anemomylos to Mon Repos, inside Mon Repos, Dirpfeld St. (Elaias' Institute), Saint Theodoroi- Cemetery- Prison Grove- Avramis Hill to Mitropolitou Methodiou, Kanoni, Analipsi. In this zone the following areas need careful implementation: Chalkiopoulo's Lake area- Analipsi Area. 1. In the rubbish bins at the bend of Analipsi (opposite Vassilakis estate on the wall of Mon Repo). 2.In the rubbish bins at the central point of Analipsi at the end of the road. 

Kanoni area: Skamata

Garitsa area: children's playground

Cemetery area: in the park

Prison park area: in rubbish outside the prison and the park

Kefalomantouko area: 

1. Rubbish bins in Nikolaos Zervos St. (beginning of the road from the shopping centre)

2. Rubbinsh bins on Spiros Rath and Nikolas Zervos

3. On the two streams in the area: Karteria area on Spiros Vasiliou St. in the abandonded building, at the bins on the right and the public area behind Nousias.

Sixth zone: Kanalia area: 

• 1. In rubbish bins (Tsarou area) oposite "Froutotopos"
• 2. At the entrance of Kastania in the rubbish bins ( 2nd bridge)
• 3. In the rubbish bins within the settlement (before FAGE)
• 4. In the ditch on the road opposite Jumbo
• 5. In the rubbish bins at the entrance of Katakalou settlement. 

-Koulines area: Ditch (Kotsela) at the entrance opposite the church

-Tria Fanaria area: In the ditch behind the petrol station 

-Alepou area

• 1. Alepou flatland
• 2. Maniaki Hill
• 3. Mandra area
• 4. DEI
• 5. Triklino, Potamaki area
• 6. Beads and kennels in Saint Paraskevi
• 7. Mamali area
• 8. Alexakeika area, as well as, in all areas of Municipal Community of Corfu, where there is problem and after informing the contactor from the competent Department of Municipality, in Alykes Potamou, Potamos and river banks in Potamos, Alepou, (in the locations of Latseika, Kampos, Triklino, behind the super market former Koskina, Maniati Hill, Alexakeika), Kanalia (in Jumbo area, Romeiko, Saint Nikolas, Saint Eleni, Katakalou). 

Saturday 19/10/2024

Sixth zone (remainder): Gouvia, Nisi Gerekou, Gouvia Marina, Gouvia children's camps in Gouvia, Kontokali, Kontokali staduim, in Alykes Potamos, Potamos and river banks in Potamos, Evropouli (throughout the village), Kira Chrisikou. In this zone the following areas need careful implementation: 

-Potamos area: Intersection behind the rubbish bins. 

-Traffic Education Park, Alykes Potamou (Third application) 

-In the area of the Waste Transfer Station (WDC), Temploni (Third application)
