Corfu Old Town Trail - Saturday 21 September

CORFU. The route, which is pleasant (and challenging) through the town, attracts many foreigners and becomes ingrained in everyone΄s consciousness, combining sports with our cultural heritage and boosting tourism as many people come just to take part.
The Corfu Old Town Trail began tentatively in 2013, but has now become established and every year attracts more and more participants. It continues to grow and on Saturday (21/9), the participation is expected to exceed 500 people.
The many and different categories provide more options and as a result more people are willing to participate. This year, there will be a 14-kilometre race, a 7-kilometre race, and a parent-child race, encouraging even greater participation. After all, for almost everyone choosing to participate on Saturday, it's the taking part that counts.
The Ionian Islands Regional Authority, the Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands and of course Corfu Mountain Trail are co-organising the race. A press conference was held with the Deputy Mayor of Sports, P. Giannoulis, the Deputy Mayor of Tourism, Sp. Chalikopoulos, and the Organising Committee.
They said that Corfu is being placed on the international map of sports events, linked with sports tourism, and integrated into the framework of sustainable tourism development and the promotion of thematic, alternative tourism.
