The Operational Projects Department of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands Municipality Green Maintenance Department has announced the following:
In order to address the problem caused by the weevil or red palm weevil (Rhynchophorus ferrugineus, Red Palm Weevil), which threatens palm trees by causing serious damage, even leading to their complete destruction, the Municipal Green Maintenance Department is applying the method of microinjection (Tree Micro Injection - TMI) with the insecticide Revive II, approved by the Ministry of Rural Development and Food.
Today, Tuesday, June 11, the aforementioned method will be applied to palm trees located at the following points in the town:
Psychiatric Hospital Square (1), Agii Pateres (3), Flagginio (4), Airport Islands (2), Garitsa Park (11), Methodiou (Fronimou Square) (2), Square on Parga Street (4), Maraslio (4), National Resistance Monument Square (Entrance to the New Fortress) (1), Old Town Hall Square (1), the square next to I. Gardikioti Street in Mantouki (2), and in Ipsos (6).
