Man in hospital after falling down lift shaft in Kontokali

According to the information available so far, the accident happened when the lift door opened on the first floor, even though the lift was on the basement floor. The Fire Department was called out to rescue the injured man.

As a result of the fall, the man sustained head injuries and was immediately taken to Corfu Hospital—which is very close by—for first aid and to check his condition. However, reports indicate that the injuries do not appear to be serious.
