Golden Chef΄s Cap award for Etrusco and Top Notch honorary distinction for Venetian Well

ATHENS. 5 restaurants from Corfu participated in the event held at the Athenaeum InterContinental hotel in Athens.

The Golden Chef΄s Caps were awarded to the best restaurants in the country on Monday evening, April 8th, at a special ceremony at the Athenaeum InterContinental hotel.

Entering its fourth decade, the institution of the GoldenChef΄s Caps finds the Greek gastronomic scene blooming impressively, a fact evidenced by the 43 restaurants receiving awards, whose owners and chefs took to the stage on Monday, April 8th, to receive the highest Greek gastronomic distinction. Five restaurants from Corfu participated:

  • Apaggio (Marbella Nido Hotel) | Contemporary cuisine - Agios Ioannis Peristeron
  • Arcadion Bistrot (Arcadion Hotel) | Contemporary cuisine
  • Venetian Well | Contemporary cuisine
  • Etrusco | Contemporary cuisine - Kato Korakiana
  • Makris Degustation (Domes Miramare Corfu Hotel) | Contemporary cuisine - Moraitika.

 

For the twelfth year running, Etrusco in Corfu was named the best restaurant in Greece, with Ektoros Botrini even securing the second place with his eponymous restaurant in Athens.

Consistently over the past few years, the significant tourist areas of our country are the ones that dominate the awards (23 in total in the Aegean islands, the Ionian Islands, and in Halkidiki). Finally, 19 restaurants received the Top Notch honorary distinction, one level below the Golden Chef΄s Cap. From Corfu, the Top Notch award was given to Venetian Well owned by Yiannis Vlachos.

The ceremony was hosted by Giorgos Karamichos and Katerina Papoutsaki.
