Ambulance quick to arrive at scene of Ponti road accident

In just 8 minutes, ambulances arrived at the road accident that occurred in Ponti on Tuesday night, where three people were injured, including a 16-year-old.

The incident is described by the president of the Ambulance Service Employees' Union, Christos Kypriotis, in a post on social media, highlighting the need for support for the only emergency care provider in Greece, despite the ongoing staffing shortages in Corfu.

With the immediate assistance of the Fire Department, the injured persons were extricated from the wreckage. Paramedics stabilised the vital functions of the young person, who was transferred to Corfu Hospital. The second ambulance also took the two adults after providing emergency medical care, and they were in good condition.

Christos Kypriotis stated, "Once again, the Ambulance Service (EKAB) demonstrated the high level of professionalism and training of its crews. The need for its existence and support is once again highlighted, as well as the necessary collaboration with emergency services."
