Nearly 80 stremma burnt in Agios Stefanos wildfire

CORFU. The fire that broke out on Saturday afternoon in the area of Agios Stefanos, Avliotes burned nearly 80 stremma of grass and woodland and came very close to residential areas.
Fortunately, yesterday's rain was an ally in the firefighters' efforts and helped in the extinguishing of the fire. Nevertheless, firefighting vehicles and the Thinalio detachment remain on alert in the area to respond to any potential flare-ups.
