Plane from Corfu skids off runway at Leeds Bradford Airport when landing

UK. On Friday, 20 October, a TUI plane that had departed from Corfu for Leeds Bradford Airport skidded and ended up off the runway when landing due to wet and windy conditions. Airport personnel and the West Yorkshire fire service evacuated the passengers from the aircraft and according to the fire service update, there were no injuries or fires.
The United Kingdom has been affected by Storm Babet in recent days, with three people already having lost their lives. The phenomena are particularly intense in Northeast Scotland. In England, homes are flooded, railway schedules have been cancelled and schools remain closed.
