ELT Excellence Gold Award for Healthy Little Eaters and Spyridoula Kokkali

CORFU. Healthy Little Eaters was set up by Spyridoula Kokkali΄s Foreign Language Centre in 2014 and has since been adopted by 80 Centres throughout Greece and Cyprus.

Spyridoula Kokkali was presented with a gold award for "Healthy Little Eaters" from the only organisation in Greece that evaluates and rewards good practices in foreign language education, the ELT Excellence Awards. The award ceremony took place at Doukas School in Maroussi, Athens on Friday, June 23, with the participation of 92 educators from the private and public sectors from 36 different cities in Greece.

The gold award was presented in the category "Teaching for raising students' awareness of social issues." Healthy Little Eaters is a foreign language experiential educational project that focuses on cultivating children's love for nature, the environment and healthy eating through activities implemented both inside and outside the classroom. It was set up by Spyridoula Kokkali's Foreign Language Centre in 2014 and has since been adopted by 80 Centres throughout Greece and Cyprus.

 

Ms. Kokkali gave the following statement:

"Many thanks to our teaching staff for their participation in Healthy Little Eaters  activities and for the help and support they provide every day. This award is dedicated to all those parents, students, friends, and colleagues who believed in Healthy Little Eaters and in its power to cultivate the mindset of young people towards a better and sustainable world."
