Maintenance of Central Corfu Municipal village buildings

CORFU. The community offices in Gardelades and Doukades have been renovated - Work is being done in Sgourades, Zygos and Afra.
Renovation work carried out by Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands Municipality has improved the municipal community offices in Gardelades and Doukades both functionally and aesthetically.
Mayor Meropi Ydraiou inspected the work at first-hand accompanied by Deputy Mayor Nikos Kalogeros, Councillor Vaggelis Rarakos and a team of engineers from the Municipal Technical Works Department.
The Municipality said that the buildings in Gardelades and Doukades required extensive construction and plumbing work as well as insulation and painting.
In a statement the Mayor said: "We are gradually getting rid of the images of neglect in the municipal buildings and they will soon be completely renovated and ready for use.
Work is already being carried out at the municipal buildings in Sgourades, Zygos and Afra and this will be followed in the remaining districts in a project being funded by Municipal resources.
The local authority considered the project to be absolutely necessary to make the municipal buildings respectable once again and completely functional.
I am completely satisfied with the results and yet another goal has been achieved. The municipality can change and progress only with work. This is what we promised and this is what we are doing."
