CORFU. The selection and leasing of the new building is done with quick procedures.
The deadline for the expression of interest regarding the lease of property to house the Argyrades Fire Station expired on Monday.
According to ERT, three property owners have already expressed interest in Lefkimmi, Melitaion and Korission. The Deputy Mayor for Civil Protection Miaris, an engineer of the Municipality, the Fire Chief Avlonitis and other members of the Fire Service carried out an inspection on Tuesday in these buildings, in order to determine whether they meet the necessary conditions.
The committee that made the evaluation of the properties is going to announce its conclusions to the South Corfu Mayor on Wednesday 7 December.
The Mayor is expected to make a decision on the same day for the immediate lease of the property recommended by the committee, while the Finance Committee will also approve it at the same time.
The requirements
The covered area must consist of at least three staff accommodation areas suitable for a minimum of six people. Additional office and storage space will be considered an advantage without being a necessary requirement at this stage.
The building must have a legal building permit, heating and air conditioning system, as well as well-maintained electrical and plumbing installations. The perimeter of the property must be fenced and suitable for the parking of at least six fire engines.
The parking spaces must be paved and preferably covered. Amongst properties with the above characteristics, properties located within the Korission district will be preferred due to their central location. The property must have access from a municipal road and be located as close to the Eth. Lefkimmi Rd as possible.
Up to €850
The monthly rent is set at a maximum of €850. Amongst offered properties that meet all requirements, the property that is accompanied by the most advantageous offer for the South Corfu Municipality will be preferred.
