CORFU. Open Day at Agii Deka radar station on Sunday 13 November, 10:00-14:00. In the case of adverse weather conditions, it will be postponed to Sunday 20th.
For the third year, the Civil Aviation Personnel Association is organising a Radar Open Day for the public at the Agii Deka radar station on Sunday 13 November, 10:00-14:00.
Following two years when it didn't take place due to the pandemic, this successful familiarisation event is returning for the Corfu public. Along with the unique view from a height of 600m visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy a guided tour of the facilities for flight safety.
Members of the association will guide visitors around the facilities and explain how the radar station operates with its electronic communication and monitoring system, which is used to ensure the safety of flights at Corfu Airport and in Greek airspace in general.
The Open Day is being organised as part of International Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel (ATSEP) Day.
