CORFU. Danilia Village (Boua Village) is open to the public daily from 10:00 to 22:00. Admission free.
Danilia Village - known to locals as Boua Village - provides an unforgettable experience and allows one to journey back into the past. This village, much loved by Corfiots, is now open to the public once again.

The village is a marvellous example of Venetian architecture and was planned and built by two brothers from the Boua family in the 80s. The brothers' entrepreneurial spirit was what led them to create the village, which, even now remains one of the best preserved villages in Greece and delights all those who visit it.

It is an exact replica of a traditional Corfu village which takes one back to the 80s when it was at its most splendid. It closed in the 90s and now belongs to the Grecotel hotel group which uses it for occasional events in the summer.
As soon as you enter it is guaranteed that you will be enchanted. Enjoy a Greek coffee in the traditional kafenio or dinner in its picturesque taverna after strolling through a spot frozen in time.

The imposing stone-built vaults and stairways leading up to the porticos of the houses, the broad green space around it - all make it the jewel of the island, which holds firm to its traditional identity and shows no sign of passing time. Visit the old olive press and the folklore museum with old utensils, jewelry and embroidery as well as tools and machinery used by locals for at least 300 years.

The village has, of course, been used for major film productions such as the James Bond film "For Your Eyes Only" in 1981 and "The Greek Tycoon" with Anthony Quinn. More recently, it was used for the British TV series "The Durrells" and "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3".
