Schools open without masks

12 Sep 2022 / 11:10

CORFU. After two years pupils returned to school without masks and self tests.

The new school year began today without masks and self tests, which had been part of pupils' everday life for the last two years of the pandemic.

The 'Holy Blessings' were conducted in all the schools in the three Corfu municipalities and teachers were in place and books for the new year were in place.

Pupils at several schools throughout the island found that the buildings had been freshened up and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd High Schools and 6th and 7th Primary Schools had had energy upgrades during the summer.

Nevertheless, the issue of school buildings remains at the forefront as prefabs and rented properties are being used again this year.

Police officers were at school entrances handing out road safety leaflets.
