2021 census - Corfu population drops below 100k!

ATHENS. Decrease in population in Greece, Ionian Islands and Corfu. Hellenic Statistical Authority announces results of 2021 census.
According to the 2021 census, the population has decreased in Greece and the Ionian Islands. The Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) has published the census results, showing a 3.5% decrease in the general population. The total population in Greece is now 10,432,481.
The population of the Ionian Islands has also decreased by 3.4% over the last years and now stands at 200,726. The greatest decreases in the large islands have been in Corfu and Lefkada, both -4.3%, with the population of Corfu now being 99,847! Ithaki shows a decrease of 14.1% but Zakynthos remains almost as it was with a 0.6% decrease.
