Corfu Art School: A tour of the students’ exhibition opening

On Friday 1 July the Corfu Art School presented once again the work of a new generation of aspiring painters and engravers.
 
The opening of the exhibition took place on Friday afternoon at the Municipal Art Gallery (old Art Cafe) where we had the pleasure to talk with Dimitris Miliotis, a distinguished artist and teacher of the school, who guided us through the different artistic sections of the exhibition.





He informed us that the works in the exhibition represent the techniques and styles taught at the school. Freehand drawing with pencil and charcoal alternates with watercolor, oil paintings and engraving, offering the students a great artistic education based on the tradition of the great painters and engravers of our country.


 
The Corfu Art School is one of the most important aspects of culture on our island.
 
It was founded in 1881 and distinguished artists have studied there, while despite the difficulties of the pandemic, it continues to offer its services to the society of Corfu, without exclusions and obstacles for those who are interested in the arts.
 
The school offers classes of freehand drawing, watercolour and engraving.
