Contract for renovation of Villa Rossa to finally be signed on 9 June

CORFU. The aim of the project is the renovation of the Villa Rossa building and its conservation as a historic and architectural monument.
The historical Villa Rossa building is finally going to be renovated after countless efforts and procedures.
The Deputy Regional Governor for Infrastructure and Technical Works Manolis Orphanoudakis said that the contract with the project's contractor for the renovation of Villa Rossa, as well as the auxiliary buildings and the surrounding land, will be signed on Thursday 9 June.
The aim of the project is the renovation of the Villa Rossa building, its conservation as a historic and architectural monument, development of the property with modernisation of the facilities and its use as a cultural building with exhibition areas including the history of Corfu Town.
What it includes
The work includes the renovation of the Villa Rossa listed buildings in 5,426 sq.metres of land. The property comprises the main residence (Villa Rossa), the old stables, the octagonal kiosk, the old building with water tank and the gardens. The Ministry of Culture has declared the aboventioned to be historical listed monuments.
The project's budget is €4.8m of which 80% is EU funding and 20% national funding. The project is included in the Ionian Islands 2014-2020 Operational Programme and is co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The work is expected to be completed in two years (24 months).
