Vangelis Papathanassiou, known internationally as Vangelis, was one of the greatest Greek composers and musicians.
Vangelis died this Tuesday in a hospital in France, where he was recently treated for Covid-19.
The news was confirmed by the law firm that represents Vangelis Papathanassiou.
The announcement stated: "It is with great sadness that we announce that the great Greek Vangelis Papathanassiou passed away late at night on Tuesday 17 May."
