CORFU. The Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands Municipality has joined the ‘Network of Historic Cities against Plastic Waste’.
The ‘Network of Historic Cities against Plastic Waste’ (HISCAP), which is an important part of the Horizon 2020 project entitled BIO-PLASTICS EUROPE, seeks to support historic cities and municipalities in need of real-life solutions to cope with the many problems caused by plastic waste.
To achieve this vision, HISCAP members are committed, along with the BIO-PLASTICS EUROPE project partners, to examine the implementation of appropriate sustainable solutions at local level, resulting from the transfer of knowledge and experience between their administrations and the exchange of best practices and know-how with the industry, civil society, waste management bodies and other supporting organisations.
Network members will also seek to adapt innovations developed and tested by the BIO-PLASTICS EUROPE project of the Horizon 2020 programme.
