Regional Governor asks Health Minister for autonomous Health Region

ATHENS. Ionian Islands Regional Governor Rodi Kratsa met with Health Minister Thanos Plevris at the Parliament during the Special Permanent Committee of the Regions΄ meeting regarding public health in islands.
At the meeting, Mrs. Kratsa supported the need for special and targeted incentives to attract doctors to islands, the establishment of an autonomous Ionian Islands Health Region and the immediate appointment of a Deputy Director exclusively responsible for the Ionian Islands in the context of the 6th Health Region, which currently includes the Ionian Islands Region along with the Peloponnese, Western Greece and Epirus.
