Trumpet recital by Jason Dovel at the Ionian Academy

CORFU. The recital will take place on Wednesday 3 November at 19:30 in the events hall of the Ionian Academy, as part of the “Fall 2021 Recital Tour”.
Dr. Jason Dovel, Professor of trumpet at the University of Kentucky (USA) will give a trumpet recital on Wednesday 3 November at 19:30 in the events hall of the Ionian Academy, as part of the “Fall 2021 Recital Tour”.
He will perform his works “Quarantine” and “Et Planetarum”, as well as Folke Rabe's “Shazam”, Eric Nathan's “Cantus for Trumpet and Electronics” and Tae Hong Park's “T1 for Trumpet and Tape”.
Jason Dovel was invited to Corfu by the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University (11/10 to 5/11), where he taught students of trumpet and composition.
In addition to teaching trumpet at the University of Kentucky, he plays in the faculty brass quintet and hosts the UK Summer Trumpet Institute. As an orchestral trumpeter, he is principal trumpet of the Lexington Chamber Orchestra, Kentucky Bach Society, Lexington Theatre, and has spent the last ten summers playing in the Charlottesville Opera Orchestra in Virginia. He has also recorded four highly acclaimed solo CDs.
