CORFU. Personnel reduced even further - problems with shifts.

The Ambulance Service (EKAB) station in Lefkimmi is in difficulty following the suspension of four employees because they were unvaccinated. The President of the EKAB Employees' Union Christos Kypriotis told ERA Kerkyra today that there are now 12 days a month when there is nobody to cover the shifts and on the other days there is just one shift a day.

Help at Home has similar problems, the President of the Municipal Employees' Union Stamatis Korfiatis told ERA Kerkyra. There are five employees who have been suspended - who appealed to the Ministry's 1st level Health Committee to be exempted from the vaccination as they have health problems.

The committee rejected their appeal and they have now turned to the 2nd level committee and are awaiting a decision.

A list of health exemptions has not been officially established and, according to sources, the committees do not easily give their approval for employees not to be vaccinated. What is usually recommended is that they have the first shot and then, if there are problems, not to have the second shot.
