ATHENS. EODY announced 2,198 laboratory confirmed new cases on Wednesday 8 September - including 39 in Corfu.
EODY announced that there were 2,198 confirmed new cases today. 16 cases were detected at entry points.
The total number of cases in Greece is now 607,356, of which 51% are males. Over the last 7 days, 153 of the cases are connected to arrivals from abroad and 1,947 are connected with known cases.
There were 37 deaths today taking the total number of fatalities to 14,014. 95.4% of these had underlying health conditions or were over 70.
390 patients are intubated in ICUs. 350 (89.74%) of intubated patients are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, 40 (10.26%) are vaccinated. The average age is 65 and 82.1% have underlying health conditions or are over 70. 3,024 patients have been discharged from ICUs.
The number of new hospital admissions is 202 (-11.79%) and the average number of admissions throughout the country over the last 7 days is 223.
