On Tuesday morning, she gave birth by C-section to a boy who was placed in an incubator.
The young woman who has been hospitalised for the past few days at Patras General University Hospital with Covid-19 gave birth this morning by C-section.
The condition of the 32-year-old woman from Zakynthos worsened and the doctors decided to do a C-section, and immediately after the emergency delivery she was intubated.
According to information, she gave birth to a baby boy who was placed immediately in an incubator, as he was born prematurely.
The young mother has Covid-19 and the doctors gave her oxygen with a mask, for the sole purpose of giving the fetus as many days as possible, since she was in her 7th month of pregnancy. Following the worsening of her health on Tuesday morning, it was time to deliver the baby safely and, of course, to intubate the 32-year-old.
The woman remains intubated outside ICU, while her transfer to the ICU of Patras General State Hospital “Agios Andreas” is expected.
The woman had not been vaccinated.
