Corfu Golf Club, a highly praised 18-hole championship golf course located in the centre of Corfu, is hosting an Open Day this Sunday July 11th from 10AM to 4PM welcoming both experienced players and newer golfers who are looking into trying out the game of golf at one of the "19 Greatest Courses in Continental Europe" as described by Golf Monthly magazine.

Designed by Swiss-based golf architect Donald Herradine in 1971, Corfu Golf Course blends seamlessly into the quiet and verdant Ropa Valley. This course demonstrates that it does not require length to test a golfer's skill: it’s the variety of challenges that make the difference. Corfu Golf Club has more water features than any other course in Greece as Harradine designed each of the seven lakes on the course to represent an Ionian island with the largest lake representing Corfu. It is ensconced in a magical natural habitat, home to various species of flora and fauna, where the tree groves, the ponds, and the streams around the fairways, set up the ideal atmosphere for an unforgettable golf experience.

Those interested in taking their first steps in golf will be able to meet Steve Barnett, Corfu Golf Club's PGA Pro, who will be running two academy sessions from 10.30AM to 12.30PM as well as coaching sessions.  Snacks and refreshments will be available and Corfu Golf Club members and staff will be giving tours of the course and facilities. Discounted membership packages for first-time members will also be available on the day.

The year 2021 was a year of rebirth for Corfu Golf Club, celebrating 50 years from its establishment in 1971. Under new management and with new operational procedures and greenkeeping machinery, Corfu Golf Club has already set sail to become a top destination for European golf.
