European Digital Green Certificate for Travel to be unveiled today

ATHENS. Greek Digital Governance Minister Kyriakos Pierakakis will unveil the digital green certificate today, Friday, with Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis in attendance.
The official name for the pass will be "EU Digital Covid Certificate".
Along with the Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the President of the European Council Charles Michel and the Vice President of the European Commission Margaritis Schinas will also be in attendance.
"Greece is ready to present the certificate and its official introduction at European level is expected in July," said Government spokesperson Aristotelia Peloni, adding that "The certificate will be based on a single database which will show if and when the holder has been vaccinated, has recovered from the virus, has undergone a negative PCR test or antigen test. It will act as an express lane for all Europeans, facilitate border controls and consequently travellers."
She pointed out that, "This is a significant success for our country which will benefit not only the tourist industry, but also local communities and the economy and public of the country as a whole."
