CORFU. The Social Welfare Department of Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Municipality is proceeding with the creation of Special Needs parking spaces in all districts.
Deputy Mayor Andreas Skoupouras has sent a letter to all the community presidents requesting their proposals for the most suitable locations so that they can proceed with the study for the necessary requirements and then start creating the special parking spaces.
It will be taken into account that some areas have a lot of tourism in the summer and (normally) have thousands of visitors.
There will be no more than three of these parking spaces in each district and they will be finalised following decisions from the local councils. Each district will be responsible for ensuring that the spaces are used only by those who are entitled.
It should be noted that drivers with special needs will be able to use the parking spaces with an EU Parking Card or a certificate from KEPA (Disability Certification Centre).
