ATHENS. The epicentre of the strong earthquake was in the sea 19km northwest of the islands of Samos and had a depth of 10km. It was felt as far away as Attica and Crete.
There was a strong eaarthquake in the sea to the north of the island of Samos today just before 14:00.
According to the initial data at the Geodynamic Institute, the magnitude was 6.6 Richter and the epicentre was 19km northwest of the island.
