Voluntary ecological construction project in Lefkada

LEFKADA. A group of volunteers built a house in Lefkada using natural materials and employing the latest methods in ecological construction.
A group ecological construction project was completed in Lefkada between 28 and 30 August.
In those three days a group of volunteers from all over Greece took part in the construction of a small ecological house using only natural products available in the area.
The house was built in Nidri, Lefkada and the project was organised by the NGO 'CCB' which is based in Larissa and the NGO 'Paths of Solidarity' which is based in Lefkada.
The volunteers who took part used mainly bamboo, clay, sand, cloth, lime, water and wood in the construction.
No special skills were required as the aim was to teach participants techniques which they can use in their own projects and to share good sustainable development practices.
