Following her success in the triple jump on Saturday, Spyridoula Karydi won a second Gold Medal in the long jump on Sunday at the National Under-20 Championships in Ioannina
The young Corfu athlete coached by Pavlos Skordilis won the long jump competition with a new national record , 6.71m, breaking the previous record of 6.60m held by Niki Xanthou since 1992.
Spyridoula now has this year's second best under-20 performance in the world and the 7th best all-time Greek women's long jump performance. She is also at the moment world number 5 in the women's long jump.
The young athlete won both the triple jump and long jump with ease - making just two attempts in each of the competitions.
