CORFU. When Alexis Tsipras arrived at the People΄s Garden Corfu tourist guides were protesting outside the Museum of Asian Art.
The protesting tourist guides were shouting the slogan 'Guides are part of tourism'.
Their demonstration is part of a nationwide protest in Athens, Thessaloniki as well as Corfu, Crete and Rhodes, where the new Schools for Tourist Guides will open. The protest aims to highlight the serious problems the sector is facing.
They told Mr. Tsipras that they have had no income for two months and the expenses are pressing.
