Man fishing in Gouvia falls into sea - rescued by Coastguard

CORFU. The 47-year-old said he was fishing from a platform, slipped and fell into the sea.
A Coastguard patrol boat was called out to Gouvia on Monday morning by a man requesting help.
The crew pulled the 47-year-old foreign national out of the sea. The man said he had been fishing from a platform, slipped and fell into the water.
According to the Coastguard, the man had no serious problems but was taken by ambulance to the hospital for a precautionary examination.
Corfu Central Port Authority is looking into the incident and steps have been taken to punish him for violating the lockdown.
