Man, 43, arrested for illegal transportation of nearly 19 tons of wood

CORFU. Following checks by Corfu Port Authority officers it was found that the 43-year-old lorry driver wasn΄t in possession of the necessary logging licence.
The 43-year-old was arrested by Corfu Port Authority officers on Sunday night following a check at the New Port which found that the driver didn't have the necessary logging licence for the olive wood that he was transporting.
The total weight of the wood was 18,820kg.
Corfu Port Authority is conducting an investigation and has confiscated both the lorry and the wood.
