Exhibition of Maps: "Corfu by the Great Cartographers"



Corfu Municipal Art Gallery is exhibiting some of the artistically and scientifically important maps of Corfu from its collection.

From Thursday 25 April the works of these cartographers will be on exhibition in chronological order, covering four centuries, allowing us to see the development of cartography from the 17th century Baroque period, when aesthetics dominated, to the early 19th century, when there was an almost complete absence of any decorative items.

The exhibition will display 15 engravings in the central room of the Gallery's Permanent Exhibition.

Guided tours of Corfu Town historic centre for the public



The Tourist Guides Union is organising a guided tour in Corfu Town historic centre on Sunday 19 January.

The tour is open to residents who want to learn more about local history as well as any visitors who may be on the island. Children are welcome.

Glyfada - Myrtiotissa trek



The Special Search & Rescue Team (EMED) is organising a trek on Sunday 19 January.

We will set off at 10:00 from Glyfada beach, pass through Myrtiotissa and climb up to Ai Giorgi monastery. We will take a break there and then return via Kelia.

Meet up at 09:15 at the bakery at the Telesilla Hotel car park in Kontokali.
