4th Mushroom Festival in Sinies



For the 4th year running Sinies Educational & Cultural Society is organizing a Mushroom Festival on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 November.

Saturday 16th

12:30 - Meet at Agios Stefanos Sinies (Efkaliptos Taverna) for an outing in the Erimitis area to find mushrooms under the guidance of Giorgos Konstantinidis and Thanasis Dinos (President Epirus Mushroom Lovers Society).

There will also be truffle hunting with truffle hunting dogs - you'll need a basket and a knife.

Art & Craft exhibition on mushrooms and nature by local primary and nursery schools

16:30 - Presentation "Local Flowers and Herbs" from Maria Nikolouzou and Eleni Christoforatou.

17:30 - Seminar "Recognising Greek Mushrooms" from Giorgos Konstantinidis, President of Greek Mushroom-Lovers Society.

18:30 - Mushroom tasting with Chef Fotis Paraskevaidis - mushroom soup, grilled mushrooms and other mushroom delicacies prepared by the chef. This will be followed by a celebration with live music and food.

Sunday 17th

09:30 - 12:00 - Seminar on drying and packaging mushrooms from Fotis Paraskevaidis (Agios Stefanos, Sinies)

10:00 - 11:00 - Presentation for young children "Recognising Mushrooms" from Thanasis Dinos, President of Epirus Mushroom Lovers Society (Agios Stefanos, Sinies).

'CERN' Exhibition in the Municipal Theatre Foyer



The ΄CERN΄ exhibition will be held in the foyer of Corfu Municipal Theatre presenting CERN experiments and research into Elementary Particle Physics.

On display will be experiments that have taken place at CERN and research into Elementary Particle Physics with photos, posters and short videos. There will be guided tours until the exhibition ends.



Retrospective art exhibition - "Angelos Giallinas (1857 - 1939) - With Corfiot light and colour"



The exhibition opens at the Municipal Art Gallery on Friday 26 July at 20:00.

10:00 - 16:00 Tuesday to Sunday until 31 December 2019.

Exhibition of Maps: "Corfu by the Great Cartographers"




Corfu Municipal Art Gallery is exhibiting some of the artistically and scientifically important maps of Corfu from its collection.

From Thursday 25 April the works of these cartographers will be on exhibition in chronological order, covering four centuries, allowing us to see the development of cartography from the 17th century Baroque period, when aesthetics dominated, to the early 19th century, when there was an almost complete absence of any decorative items.

The exhibition will display 15 engravings in the central room of the Gallery's Permanent Exhibition.

The volunteers at Pagi Recycling Centre are organising a special meeting with a presentation on recycling and the latest information about waste management in the coming year.

The Mayor of North Corfu Giorgos Mahimaris and the Councillor responsible for recycling Spyridoula Kokkali, who will be making the presentation, will be attending.
