The international meeting "The Modern European Dimension in Waste Management: Can Corfu follow this model?" is in progress at the moment, organised by the newly-formed non-profit association Waste Watch Corfu.

The main speakers are Antonis Mavropoulos, President - International Solid Waste Association; Vanya Veras, General Secretary - EU Urban Waste Management, Josep Maria Tost, Director - Catalonia Waste Management Organisation and Juan Manuel Revuelta - Managing Director of the Finnova Foundation, Brussels.

Representatives form the local authorities, political parties, businesses and producers as well as from interested Corfu organisations have been invited to the meeting to take part in an in-depth discussion to find sustainable and environmentally-friendly solutions to waste management on the island.
