CORFU. The GEA Film Festival is a short film world festival that takes place in various cities around Europe simultaneously.
The Festival uses a system similar to the qualifying rounds of the Soccer World Cup. It connects the relaxed ambience from bars and/or other alternative venues with the cinematographic screening, creating an atmosphere for real non-academic debate about the viewed productions.
The event is aimed at a wide audience - filmmakers, students, artists and fans of short films looking for something different as well as those who are not familiar with short films and similar forms of art.
Members of the audience play an important part in the festival as, with their vote, they determine which films in each group go through to the Finals!
This year the Festival will take place in 12 European cities - Catania, Reggio Calabria (Italy), Barcelona (Spain), Bielsko Biala, Poznan, Cracow (Poland), Utrecht (Netherlands), Athens, Thessaloniki, Corfu, Trikala, Halkida (Greece).
