Corfu Environmental Protection Association: 1st Eco-Celebration



Corfu Environmental Protection Association is organising its 1st Eco-Celebration on 11,12 and 13 October.

On Saturday and Sunday the events take place in Moraiti campsite in Vassilika, Ai Yianni. The daylong events will include a bazaar with organic products, talks and discussions, workshops, entertainment for young and old as well as talks about the future of recycling from volunteers. Food and refreshments will be available.


Open Gardens Weekend



A large number of Corfu΄s nicest private gardens will be open to the public for the Open Gardens weekend.

Gardens in South Corfu will be open to the public on Saturday 12 October and those in the north on Sunday 13th. Come and listen to experienced gardeners and get ideas for garden design and maintenance - and make new friends!

Admission to the gardens is free and details with maps can be found in Greek and English on the Facebook Page Corfu Open Gardens.

Printed booklets in English are available at Stereniotiko Bakery & Cafe (Guilford St.), Plus Bookshop (Nikiforou Theotoki) and Rados Garden (Paleokastritsas St. or Kanali-Lefkimmi Rd.).

The gardens can be visited from 10:00 to 16:00 each day.


Corfu Jazz World 2019: 11 - 14 October



Corfu Municipality, the Ionian University and Corfu Events Organisation are organising Corfu Jazz World 2019.

Taking part in this international festival and jazz academy will be Riccardo Del Fra, Jay Clayton, Eric Ineke, David Lynch, Stavros Lantsias, Lefteris Kordis - Edmar Colon Duo, Next Step Quartet and Flying Jazz.

'CERN' Exhibition in the Municipal Theatre Foyer



The ΄CERN΄ exhibition will be held in the foyer of Corfu Municipal Theatre presenting CERN experiments and research into Elementary Particle Physics.

On display will be experiments that have taken place at CERN and research into Elementary Particle Physics with photos, posters and short videos. There will be guided tours until the exhibition ends.

Dimitris Miliotis exhibition: "Metamorphosis" - sketches and engravings at the Municipal Art Gallery

Exhibition of Maps: "Corfu by the Great Cartographers"



Corfu Municipal Art Gallery is exhibiting some of the artistically and scientifically important maps of Corfu from its collection.

From Thursday 25 April the works of these cartographers will be on exhibition in chronological order, covering four centuries, allowing us to see the development of cartography from the 17th century Baroque period, when aesthetics dominated, to the early 19th century, when there was an almost complete absence of any decorative items.

The exhibition will display 15 engravings in the central room of the Gallery's Permanent Exhibition.

The alternative meet-up point, for those who want to use private cars, is at 09:30 at Agios Stefanos harbour, where we will depart for the island.
