ATHENS. The epicentre was 1km west of Durrës.
According to the Geodynamics Institute there was a 5.8 Richter earthquake in Albania just after 5pm. A few minutes later there was an aftershock of about 5 Richter in the same area.
The first tremor was at 17:04 with the epicentre in the sea 1km west of Durrës. The depth was 10km.
The second tremor came 11 minutes later - 4km west of Durrës and at the same depth.
