CORFU. The Hospital Administration has created new parking spaces for both those with special needs and not who are using the Artificial Kidney Unit.
There are 4 spaces for those with special needs plus another 8 for patients at the Kidney Unit. The old ambulances that were taking up space there are being removed so that the whole area can be solely for those using the Unit.
According to the Hospital Director Phivos Kakavitsas, "This is the second area that has been marked off for those with special needs following the 5 parking spaces in bright blue in front of the Thalassaemia Unit which was renovated three months ago.
In the coming days we will be creating new special needs parking spaces at the Psychiatric Clinic and the main hospital entrance.
We would like to ask all those using these spaces to display the special badge for special needs in order to avoid the imposition of fines and removal of number plates - following requests from the hospital administration and patients' groups Corfu Traffic Police will be checking regularly for illegal parking."
