CORFU. A 17-year-old Corfiot lost his life early this morning on the Karousades - Sidari road (Agios Ioannis).
A car driven by a 17-year-old Bulgarian swerved on the road and was hit by a van driven by a 69-year-old.
One of the car passengers, a 17-year-old Corfiot, was killed in the accident. The driver was seriously injured and two other passengers suffered minor injuries.
The following statement was issued by the police:
"In the early morning hours today (5/8) on the Karousades - Sidari road (near Agios Ioannis) a car driven by a 17-year-old Bulgarian swerved and a following van driven by a 69-year-old Greek crashed into it.
A 17-year-old Greek passenger in the car was killed, the Bulgarian driver was seriously injured and two other passengers suffered minor injuries.
The North Corfu Police Department is investigating the cause of the accident."
