Corfu top of the list for tax violations!

Greece΄s public revenue authority, AADE inspected 7,735 businesses throughout Greece in June - finding violations in 32% of them.

The Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE) has been carrying out inspections on the islands and tourist resorts. In June they looked at 7,735 businesses throughout Greece and the average figure for violations was32%. Most of the inspections were conducted in Athens, Thessaloniki and Patras.

On the islands the highest number of inspections were in Zakynthos and top of the list for violations was Corfu with violations being found in more than six out of ten (62%) of those inspected.

In June the highest number of checks were carried out in Athens (407) with 37% violations. Thessaloniki had 55% from 289 checks. Patras had 36% from 233, Katerini 36% from 200, Zakynthos 41% from 186, Heraklion had 28% violations, Argostoli 29% from 173, Rethymnon 20% from 166, Rhodes 43% from 166, Chania 28% from 164, Mykonos 43% from 159, Santorini 56% from 151.

There were 141 inspections in Corfu and violations were found in 62% of them.

In terms of professional sectors, the list of violators, according to AADE data, was led by taxi/chauffeuring services - 81%, car washes - 75%, flower shops - 73%, travel agencies - 68%, nail salons - 63%, legal firms - 63%, takeaway souvlaki shops - 62%,hairdressers - 62%, motorcycle rental agencies - 57%, filling stations - 54%, land/sea transport companies - 53%, retail trade - 36%, catering - 33%, Accommodation - 24%.
