700k Euros for the Ionian Islands Children΄s Choir Festival

CORFU. The Children΄s Choir Festival established by the Regional Administration has been included in the European Interreg Programme for the next 4 years.

Ionian Islands Regional Governor Theodoros Galiatsatos signed a Partnership Agreement with the "Holistic networking of creative industries via hubs" programme this week following on from the submission of an application for the Strategic Programme Interreg 'Greece-Italy 2014-2020' in January 2019.

The Partnership is made up of Ionian Islands Region, Western Greece Region, Epirus Region and the Apulia Region in Italy. It establishes the Children's Choir Festival and funding for the next four years, develops and encourages young artists and creates new cultural structures accessible to the public.

According to the press release, "Regional Governor Theodoros Galiatsatos is fulfilling his committment to establish the Children's Choir Festival and included it in the Interreg Programme, securing funding of 700,000 Euros for the next four years. The Children's Choir Festival has already been successfully held for three years in Corfu, Zakynthos and Lefkada."

In addition, the creation of a sound studio in the Ionian Islands Regional Administration has also been included in the programme with a view to supporting entrepreneurship especially for young artists.
