Spectacular Resurrection in Corfu!

CORFU. The celebration of the Resurrection began with the arrival of the Holy Fire in Corfu at 22:15.
Archbishop Nektarios received the Holy Fire at Corfu Airport and the official reception took place at Pentofanaro at 22:45.
The Resurrection Service traditionally takes place at the small pavilion in the Upper Square following the procession from the nearby Church of Saint Paraskevi led by the Archbishop and accompanied by dignitaries, bands and thousands of worshippers.
There was a solemn atmosphere in the square, which was brightly-lit by thousands of hand-held candles.
This was followed by a spectacular fanfare and firework display and the joyful march 'Fear Not, Greeks' played by the island's Philharmonic Bands. Celebrations then continued around the island with 'magiritsa', red eggs and all the local traditions.
