12th National Cycle Ride in Corfu - Sunday 7 April

CORFU. Organised by ΄Orthopetalia΄ Association and ΄Stirixis΄ - the support organisation for addictions and AIDS.
The 12th National Cycle Ride will take place in Corfu Town on Sunday 7 April, setting off from Pentofanaro at 12:00.
The aim of this event over the last few years, on a local and national level, has been to encourage the use of the bicycle as an alternative, easy and cheap means of transport - especially in towns which have a special character, such as Corfu.
We are demanding safer conditions for cyclists in towns along with the creation of infrastructure to allow the safe use of bikes. On a local level we continue to demand the use of the cycle lanes which have been turned into parking spaces. We also demand that the bike rental system which was set up but never used be put into operation.
We want the cycle lanes from Garitsa to the port to be put into use so that locals and visitors can have a quick, easy and pleasant ride along the route.
We call on all Corfiots, regardless of age, to join Sunday's cycle ride - individually or with their family or friends - and take advantage of this chance to see and experience the town in a different way.
At the end of the ride their will be a prize draw with an opportunity to win a bike and two helmets donated by 'Stirixi'.
