Free BMD (Bone Mineral Density) check-ups

The check-ups are being organised by Corfu Municipality in collaboration with the National Network of Healthy Municipalities-City Health Promotion as part of the programme of BMD / Osteoporosis Prevention measurements for women.

The programme for check-ups in Corfu is as follows:

1st Week: 1 - 6 April

Monday 1st: Phaeaces district - Local District building in Ipsos.
Tuesday 2nd: Kassiopi district - KAPI building in SInies.
Wednesday 3rd: Thinalia district - Local District building in Acharavi.
Thursday 4th: Esperia district - Rural surgery in Sidari.
Friday 5th: Palaiokastritsa district - Multi-purpose hall in Liapades.
Saturday 6th: Corfu district - Office of Deputy Mayor for Social Welfare Andreas Skoupouras in the Regional Building.

2nd Week: 8 - 13 April

Monday 8th: Lefkimmi district - Lefkimmi secondary school.
Tuesday 9th: Achilleio district - Local District building in Chrysida, Vrioni.
Wednesday 10th: Melitea district - Moraitika primary school.
Thursday 11th: Korission district - Rural surgery in Argyrades.
Friday 12th: Parelion district - Local district building in Chrysida, Kokkini.
Saturday 13th: Corfu district - Office of Deputy Mayor for Social Welfare Andreas Skoupouras in the Regional Building.

The check-ups will take place 09:00 - 13:30.

The check-ups are for women aged 50 - 65, especially those who are postmenopausal, as well as adults who are receiving long-term cortisone treatment or have a family history of osteoporosis.

Priority list of women who can have the check-ups:
- Those who are menopausal or postmenopausal
- Those undergoing long-term cortisone treatment
- Those with thyroid problems
- Those with a family history of osteoporosis.
