ATHENS. There was an angry and violent reception waiting for the 52-year-old self-confessed murderer at Korydallos Prison.

The 52-year-old, who faces charges of first-degree murder, was remanded in custody and transferred to Korydallos Prison in Athens.

His lawyer Vassilis Noulezas said that his client was attacked verbally and physically by other inmates and had to be taken to Agios Pavlos Hospital, where he will remain for examinations.

According to Mr. Nouleza, the 52-year-old is "in a terrible mental state and is terrified for his life. He said he was the victim of violent attacks and has requested that he be transferred to Grevena Prison."
