Talk on Community Waste Management at Corfu Labour Centre (Ergatiko Kentro)

The event is being actively supported by Temploni Cultural Society, Potamos Cultural Society, Corfu Environmental Initiative and Corfu Environmental Protection Society. The subject of the talk and discussion is 'Community Waste Management' and the main speakers will be:

1. Dimitris Damaskos, who will present the current situation in Greece and Corfu with information and data from EUROSTAT and the European Community Guidelines. He will talk about sorting at source, motivation, traceability and will also present information about the integrated waste management facility.

2. Stavros Argyropoulos, who will present a comprehensive proposal for an alternative management model for manufactured waste based on the successful example of waste self-management in Sparti, which came about as a result of public action and the establishment of the company Lakoniki Bioenergiaki A.E.

Those attending the meeting will have the opportunity to ask questions and to present the various activities already being carried out by Corfu residents regarding waste management.
